was born in Switzerland. After her first studies with Ernesto Molinari at the Hochschule der Künste Bern she moved to London. In 2006 Beatrix gained her Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Performance with Distinction at the Royal College of Music where she studied mainly with Richard Hosford. She also took bass clarinet lessons with Michael Harris, had Duo Performance classes with Nigel Clayton and composition with Michael Oliva. During that period she was supported by the 'Kulturförderpreis der Stadt Thun' scholarship (2004) and the 'Stephen Joseph Bursary' from the Wall Trust (2005), winning the 'Stephen Trier Award' at the RCM in 2005 for bass clarinet and the Marjorie&Dorothy Whyte Memorial Award (2006).
Beatrix is a very versatile musician; Performances with different groups - playing different styles of music from classical to free improvisation - included concert tours in her native country, Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain and made her travel as far as the USA and South America.
She works as a freelance clarinettist and bass clarinettist with orchestras such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of Situation Opera and the Charities Philharmonia and as an active chamber musician she appears in different venues in and around London and abroad.
